Garden Design near Glasgow, in the West of Scotland
Consultation
An initial visit to your site is the first step in the design process. This enables us to familiarise ourselves with the site and discuss, in broad terms, your requirements and style.
Following our initial consultation, we will send you a proposal outlining what we intend to include in your design in terms of the gardens layout and hard landscaping choices. At this stage we will also advise you of the fee for the design process that follows:
Site Survey
Upon receipt of your signed proposal we will arrange to fully survey your site for all the main requirements of soil, aspect, levels and dimensions.
Sketches
Shortly after the completion of the survey we will produce a sketch design detailing our proposed layout for your garden based on information you have given us and our creative input.
Drawings
Following discussion of the sketch plans, we will proceed to producing the necessary plans for the implementation of your garden.
You will receive a hand drawn and rendered presentation plan usually at a scale of 1:20, 50 or 100 and on A1 or A2 sized paper.
The presentation plan will give you the layout of your garden and will detail the materials that will be used for construction. We will also provide lay-out plans, and where required, construction drawings necessary for any contractor to build your garden.
Planting Plans
Your presentation plan will detail some of the feature plants, and suggest suitable types of planting to be included in the garden, however, a comprehensive planting plan is available as a separate plan for your garden.
We can also procure high quality plants for you and arrange to have them planted.

Contemporary garden, Ayr Ayr, Scotland
Contemporary lines and materials have been used to provide a strong contrast with planting in a traditional style.
A Limestone patio with inlay detail and white painted rendered retaining wall provide an excellent foil for a colourful planting scheme.
"We hired Jeremy to design the back garden for our house and he led us through the entire process and produced detailed plans (including a 3D one to help us visualise the end result). He kept in touch with us throughout both the design and implementation phases and we are truly delighted with the garden."
"I would highly recommend Jeremy for his personable nature, his professionalism and knowledge of his subject and also we found both him and the result to be extremely good value."
Jeremy Needham Garden Designs create garden spaces in a range of styles, contemporary or traditional.
